FROM THE EDITORS

V. Leroy Young, MD, FACS

We want to thank our contributors and readers for making the inaugural issue of Plastic Surgery Pulse News a real success. The positive comments received on our website and elsewhere are gratifying and indicate there has been a need for a multimedia vehicle such as this to disseminate information about trends, technologies, and building our practices.

We hope this first issue of 2010 will be as useful as the previous one. In this edition we shine a spotlight on topics as diverse as hand transplantation, labiaplasty, the upper lateral thoracic lift, and a botulinum toxin type A product delivered topically. The rapidly-evolving field of using adipose stem cells to regenerate tissue is also featured.

As with our inaugural issue, we again include sections on new products, new surgical techniques, and new technologies. Other sections address office practice management and advice for young surgeons. For this issue, our patient safety focus is on multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs).

Be sure to check out the videos that illustrate some of the techniques described in the articles. We also hope you will participate in our surveys and comments. Your feedback will help us improve the content of Plastic Surgery Pulse News and ensure that this publication addresses your needs and interests.
